Post V-Day: Most Important “Love”

I’ve written several “letters” in the past, I could repost for Valentine’s day- one to my husband (obviously lol) and one to Epilepsy. Ugh. :) This one, however, is to you.

Now that Valentine’s has passed, we can look beyond the hearts, candy, flowers, romantic FB pics, and focus on you. This V-Day note is one to ourselves…

People define Valentine’s Day love in all sorts of ways- romantic, friendly, etc.- but I’m throwing another type into the V-day mix… self. What about yourself? I find when you’re struggling, no matter the love around you from others, one of the hardest things to do is love yourself. Even if the struggle is through no fault of your own, validating the love others have for you and the love you should possess for oneself, isn’t always easy. You may feel a burden, a weight on those around you. But it’s okay to not worry yourself with what’s around you but to look inside you… I don’t really have much to say for this post other than give yourself permission to love you, faults and all. Sickness and all. Chronic illness and all. You may be slightly broken (but who isn’t?? 😊 lol), feel insecure and downright insignificant, yet you are here. Put stock in that. On Valentine’s Day and every day, you should never discount your worth.

That’s the love we should all start with.

And I just want you to know, I’m right here with you… 😊

    Hola Megan.
My morning ritual brings us together again. I’m such a typical old guy these days. I wake up early (before 5:00 a.m.), get my cup of coffee, turn on my computer to work on my genealogy, and then check out what is happening on Facebook. Just want to let you know that I have you in my thoughts these days. I keep hoping that you find some answers, or at least, relief from your struggle.

Mitch & I were just talking about you the other day, and he told me of your chance encounter with him at John Wayne Airport a couple of years back. We both shared the same opinion, you are one exceptional lady. Well, you hold strong!! Please extend my best to your Mom & Dad. As they say, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” If they ever want to meet up at Weins Winery in Temecula and share some good wine let me know.

    Here’s to loving thy self,

    Ken & Connie Sandifer

P.S. Have you ever considered writing a book recounting your story? You certainly have all the tools to do so.

That sounds like a pretty great ritual to me! If I could get myself up that early, I’d probably have the chance to follow suit but my little guy – who’s about to be 4 – keeps me pretty dang busy. LOL anyways, thank you so much always for the continued support. I am so grateful for everyone’s love and prayers! We will get there and figure out exactly what we need to do… 😊
I’ll for sure tell my parents you say hi, you still come up in our conversations every now and then. See what an amazing impact you had on my life, coach?! 😄Anyways, congratulations on the newest little addition to your family – I can’t get enough of his pictures, he’s absolutely perfect! And I’m sure another surfer to add to the group!
      Lots of love,
      Megan
